Wait, how come every author’s treasure page is different?

Each author has designed their own unique treasure experience. Some pages will be on websites, others in newsletters, and a few in popups. Pay close attention to see what you will be getting next!

Do I need to sign up for a newsletter to get my treasure?

Yes. Most treasure locations require newsletter signup with your name and valid email address. Check your inbox for magical treasures after signup. Remember, some authors will require a two-step verification. You may unsubscribe anytime. Note: Some treasure pages provide immediate access without email signup.

What is a two-step verification process?

When you sign up for some author newsletters, you’ll receive an initial email asking you to confirm your subscription. Simply click the verification link in that email to complete your signup. Only after verification will you receive the treasure and clue in a second email. This helps ensure you receive all future treasures!

What kind of treasure will I get from each author?

You’ll discover a delightful variety of magical treasures! Each author has prepared something unique—you might receive downloadable bookmarks from one author, interactive quizzes from another, enchanting games from a third, or fantasy maps from someone else. Some authors offer coloring pages, word puzzles, character art, or even chances to win free books! The treasures are as diverse as the authors themselves, making each stop on your hunt a new adventure.

I’m struggling to figure out these clues!

HINT: The answer is simpler than you think. Look for patterns and wordplay in the clues.
* For letter clues: Pay attention to first or last letters of key words in the riddle. The letter is often hiding in plain sight within the clue itself.
* For number clues: Count letters, look for patterns, or think about what the clue literally describes.
* For symbol clues: Consider what the clue represents in everyday contexts. What symbols are commonly associated with the concepts mentioned? (Like @ for email addresses, # for numbers, etc.)

How do I unlock the Ultimate Treasure?

Collect all twelve clues by visiting each author’s treasure page. Solve all riddles and record your answers in sequence to create the password.

I typed in the password to the Ultimate Treasure and it didn’t work.

Enter the password in all lowercase without spaces. Include the special characters and numbers in the exact order provided. We use standard American keyboard symbols. When all else fails, click on this LINK to get password hints.

I can’t find the link on the treasure page to move on to the next author.

Scroll down to the bottom and keep looking. Each treasure page looks a bit different but the essential information and links are still there. If confused, see order o authors below and click on the next signup link.

I received a general newsletter but didn’t receive the treasure page. What happened? 

If you visited an author’s website and received a general newsletter instead of the treasure hunt clue, wait at least five minutes to see if if the treasure hunt email arrives (checking all mailboxes). If it still hasn’t arrived and you experienced weird tech issues upon signing up, you could have completed a popup form that appears automatically when visiting the site.

How to fix it:

1. Return to the author’s website
2. If a popup appears, close it by clicking the X in the corner
3. Look for the specific treasure hunt signup link or form on the main page
4. Complete that form instead to receive the correct welcome email with your clue

How do I continue if I’m waiting for a newsletter?

The treasure hunt is designed with continuity in mind. Your starting author will vary depending on your unique entry link, but all participants follow the same sequential order of authors.

If you’re experiencing a delay receiving a particular author’s newsletter, you can seamlessly continue your journey while waiting:

1. Find your current position in the author sequence below
2. Click the link for the next author in the sequence
3. Return to complete any missed clues once the delayed newsletter arrives
4. If it does not arrive, click on this LINK at the end of your treasure hunt and recover the clue by answering questions about our authors to verify that you’ve been on the treasure hunt.

Can I recover clues from newsletters that were lost?

Yes, when all else fails, click on this RECOVERY link after you’ve completed the treasure hunt, answer questions from the All That Glitters Treasure hunt and you are on your way to collecting the rest of the clues AND if needed, find password hints.
